Metropolitan line

Color maps usually show the Metropolitan line as a maroon line.

The Metropolitan line runs from Aldgate in the east to Harrow-on-the-Hill in the west, where the Uxbridge branch divides from the Amersham, Chesham, and Watford branches. The Watford branch divides from the Amersham and Chesham branches at Moor Park. The Amersham and Chesham branches divide at Chalfont and Latimer.

Between Aldgate and Baker Street, London Underground services on the Metropolitan line and on the Circle line serve the same route, sharing platforms between Liverpool Street and Great Portland Street.

Between Liverpool Street and Baker Street, London Underground services on the Metropolitan line and on the Hammersmith and City line serve the same route, sharing platforms between Liverpool Street and Great Portland Street.

Between Baker Street and Wembley Park, London Underground services on the Metropolitan line and on the Jubilee line serve the same route, but the Jubilee line serves more stations.

Between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, London Underground services on the Uxbridge branch of the Metropolitan line and on the Uxbridge branch of the Piccadilly line share platforms.
